M. Scott Mahaskey is employed as Managing Editor/ Interactive & Visual at Gannett Government Media in Springfield, Virginia. This independent publication company covers Federal Government and US military operations worldwide in print, online and broadcast media. As a former photojournalist, Mahaskey has worked more than twelve months as an embedded journalist in Iraq and Afghanistan. While on assignment his images were transmitted via satellite to Gannett's flagship newspaper, USA Today, and shared throughout the Gannett network. Additional publications include People Magazine, Reader's Digest, Sports Illustrated, and scores of daily newspapers worldwide through the Associated Press. Broadcast credits for still images also include CNN, NBC Nightly News and ABC's Nightline. Army Times' growth in multimedia and television productions paved the way for his video work to be used by CBS Evening News, 60 Minutes, Discovery Channel and others.
Mahaskey has received numerous awards for his photojournalism work and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Studio from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
